Meet Your Host – Lisa Schweitzer

Hey, I’m Lisa – your host at Altitude!

My childhood was spent on the Central Coast in and around Green Point, Erina and Matcham, where I spent my time riding horses and playing touch football. It was also during my mid-teens that dad introduced us to skiing in Thredbo and I caught the snow bug.

Early adulthood brought us to Terrigal, where I fell in love with the beach culture. Commuting to Newcastle to study Physical Education teaching and working in some notable Terrigal restaurants occupied my time. Along with some travelling, this was routine for the next decade.

I now live in Jindabyne, teaching in the summer time, riding my mountain bike, pottering with herbs and and travelling – whether it be Sydney and Terrigal or Melbourne and anywhere in-between, or further afield to New Zealand or Canada or Europe and anywhere in-between. These life experiences allow me to indulge my thing to eat amazing food, drink the local brews and vinos and see wonderful things.

Winter brings me to Altitude to manage and host, have a ski or a snowshoe and enjoy the mountains. I started here in 2006 and haven’t left! Why? What other job allows you to ski, be cooked for every day, be part of a bigger team that is committed to improving the business and hang with like-minded friends and guests? My approach is to foster a social atmosphere amongst adults and kids alike, which will enhance your ski holiday even further.

The Altitude crew and I look forward to seeing you again, or meeting you for the first time!

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
