Summer

When the Alpine region sheds its winter coat, a whole new world presents itself for exploration. Wildflowers bloom, alpine creeks and rivers flow, majestic lakes appear and the rugged beauty of the “Roof of Australia” is on display as far as the eye can see.

As a wilderness area, the Kosciuszko National Park is best experienced on foot, and walkers come from all over Australia (and beyond) to partake of this unique natural environment. Far from the crowded and stressful urban lifestyle, a world awaits that offers clean air and natural beauty.

In an effort to promote and develop greater participation in summer activities, Altitude – The Lodge Smiggins has recently joined forces with Auswalk Walking Holidays. We will be providing accommodation for the Perisher-based components of both their Guided Walks and their Self-Guided Walks. With over 20 years of experience and the winners of numerous Travel Industry awards, Auswalk Walking Holidays provides comprehensive packages to suit all levels of walking holidays. The alpine walks are organized between late December and mid-March each year.

If you would like to learn more about Auswalk Walking Holidays, visit their website at www.auswalk.com.au.

While a full-service summer offering is not yet available, we are keen to open for groups wanting to do something different and are happy to discuss options for sports and social groups, corporate getaways or even special family events. Contact us for a chat any time. Also, Altitude are excited by the new level of energy in the resort and will be working closely with resort management, NPWS and the local business community to help our lodge family discover this fantastic summer getaway.
